Top chefs find perfect recipe in Downpatrick

DOWNPATRICK and the St. Patrick’s Centre will be showcased on UTV on Monday night with the next programme in the popular cooking series, Paul and Nick’s Big Food Trip.

Best friends and celebrity chefs Paul Rankin and Nick Nairn recently spent an afternoon in the centre where they filmed the local instalment for their series, which follows them along the coast of Northern Ireland and Scotland as they undertake a cooking adventure.

Upon their arrival in Downpatrick, they created and prepared a delicious three-course meal using the best in local produce.

St. Patrick’s Centre director Dr. Tim Campbell said he was proud to show off the centre and its terraced garden where they ate the carefully prepared meal.

“The award winning chefs were very impressed with the centre and our Daisies Cafe,” he said.

“It was a gorgeous night so we ate outside in our terraced garden and we were so proud to show off the town. I am sure viewers will be impressed.”

Paul and Nick’s Big Food Trip in Downpatrick will air this Monday night at 8pm on UTV.
