Saintfield Horse Show ready for the off at Hazeldene Farm

ORGANISERS are putting the final touches to this Saturday’s Saintfield Show.

Hosted by Andrew and Laura Napier, it takes place at Hazeldene Farm in Ballynahinch with all prospective participants asked to ensure they enter for the respective horse and pony classes.

There will also be a pet dog show and live country music, with the Celebrity Challenge taking place at 1pm.

The popular event will feature top jockeys, top businessmen, racehorse trainers and equestrian journalists. Prizes will be awarded for the best fancy dress and the most entertaining, most stylish rider and the best performance and UTV presenter Pamala Ballentine will interview each celebrity as they enter the arena.

Colin McBratney, Alan Buchanan and Robert Steele will be the judges and the declared list of riders include Noel McParlen, Barney Jones, Declan Lavery, Ian Wilson, the Rev Colin Hall-Thompson, Gary Lowry, Ken Dickson, Bree Rutledge, Nat Wilson, Philip Jones, and Craig Kileff.

All the money raised at the show will go towards bringing the I Am Family Children’s Choir from Uganda next year to the annual Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride.
