Mournes body planning activities

25 July 2012

A CELEBRATION of Mourne’s natural heritage will take place on Sunday.

The Mourne Heritage Trust has organised a series of events which will take place at the Life Adventure Centre at the Cornmill Quay in Annalong.

Between 11am and 3pm visitors will be able to participate in guided field trips to some of the very best coastal sites, be involved in forming the Mourne Natural Heritage Field Club and be inspired by the presentation of the annual Mourne Natural Heritage Awards.

The awards, hand crafted by local artists, recognise the effort and achievements of an individual and a group in contributing to the protection and enhancement of Mourne’s biodiversity.

There will also be a chance for people to tell Trust officials what they are doing for conservation, what they would like to do, and what the Trust can do to help.

There will also be a natural heritage quiz and tea and coffee on arrival.

The event is free of charge, but remember to pack a lunch and bring wellies and waterproofs for the afternoon session in the rockpools.
