Killyleagh Art Group holding exhibition

Killyleagh Art Group holding exhibition

11 December 2024

A LOCAL art group is holding an exhibition of their work in Downpatrick.

The Killyleagh Art Group will be displaying a selection of their paintings in the St Patrick Centre during December and January.

Many of the paintings will be for sale and can be purchased either framed or mounted and unframed.

During the summer months, the group met weekly to paint at various locations such as Strangford, Rossglass, Kilclief, Ardglass, Ballydugan Mill, Down Cathedral, Saul, the Quopilr river and Sketrick Island, near Killinchy.

Many of these locations feature in the exhibition alongside portraits, still life, abstract and semi-abstract works in oil, acrylic and watercolour.

The group wish to thank all those who facilitated the outdoor sessions during the summer and the staff at the Bridge Community Centre, Killyleagh where they meet every week throughout the winter.

Members come from across the district, including Newcastle, Darragh Cross and the Ards Peninsula.

The group always welcomes new members, whether they have painting experience or have never painted before.

There is also the opportunity to purchase lessons with all materials supplied.

Group leader Patricia McCormick has many years experience teaching art in schools, community groups and doing one-to-one tuition.
