With four teams in action, there was a full house at the Inverbrena Hall in Strangford.
This season, St Johns’ summer signings have allowed them to experiment with their line-up and enabled them to take two teams to face the Strangford A and B.

JOE McConville, as usual, kicked off proceedings with a hard fought four-game victory over Vincey Poland.
Colin McKinty made it two for the home team with a 3-0 win over Brian, while Marty Trainor increased the margin further with victory over Ann Poland.
Strangford made it four with a doubles win before Poland pulled one back for St John’s with his four-game win over McKinty.
Poland collected his second win of the night in a straight games win over Trainor, but McConville and Trainor wrapped it up with another win for Strangford.

THE experienced St John’s side were always going to be too good for the Strangford B, who were playing what was only their second competitive match.
Peter Madine, who is improving with every match, was delighted to have taken the first game in his duel with Sean Poland, but ultimately lost over four.
Michael Deeny, another player who is enjoys his table tennis, was pleased with his performance against St John’s number two, Terry, while Nuala Hynds can be proud of her points total against the experienced Mills.
Strangford continued to put good scores on the card in the remainder of games, but in the end it was a comfortable win for St John’s.

THIS was another good result for Owenbeg, whose dedication to practice is certainly paying off and despite the scoreline, this was a match of high scoring games.
Vignesh Muthusamy got the match underway in a five-game encounter with Hugh Scott, falling 13-11 in the fifth. Pat Mulholland made it two for Owenbeg with a three-game victory over Gary Smith before Jason Gill put the visitors 3-0 up with victory over Lorraine Smith.
Owenbeg made it four by winning the doubles, while Mulholland added a fifth with his second win of the night against Muthusamy.
Gary Smith pulled one back for Banbridge in a close four-game encounter with Gill, but Scott ensured the points with his second win of the night over Smith.
Muthusamy put another win on the card for his team before Scott and Mulholland rounded off what was an excellent night of table tennis from both teams.
