DOWNPATRICK MMA fighter Aidan Connolly enjoyed an outstanding debut performance at the Newforge Sports Complex in Belfast on Saturday night, securing a dominant first-round victory at Clan Wars 51.
The event, one of the region’s most anticipated, saw 28 year-old Aidan finish his opponent Michael McDonnell via rear-naked choke at 1:23 of the first round, marking another successful night for the growing gym.
Aidan, under the guidance of head coach Ethan Braniff, wasted no time in asserting his dominance. He added: “Thanks must go to his team-mate, Finbar Curran, for assisting with corner duties, all of the club members who helped him prepare for the bout and the massive support he received in the crowd from his fantastic friends and family.”
