BRYANSFORD secured their spot in the SFC quarter-finals with an impressive victory over Saval at Hilltown on Saturday night.
There was just no stopping Brian Burns’ side as they ripped Saval apart with incisive passing from midfield that continually released Danny Savage, Peter Brannigan and Jack Maginn into space.
However, It was Saval who took the lead with a point from Keelan Rice. This only served to get Bryansford into gear and consecutive points from Danny Savage, Davy McKibben and Patrick Sheridan gave the Ford a 0-3 to 0-1 lead by the fourth minute.
Oisin McEvoy tagged on another point for Saval, but this was to be their last score of the half as Bryansford assumed total control.
Scores from McKibben (0-4), Savage (0-3), Marc Reid (0-1, 45), Peter Brannigan (0-2) and a goal from Sheridan gave Bryansford a 1-13 to 0-2 half-time lead.
Rice picked up the first score of the second half before McKibben and Niall Devlin exchanged scores. Savage and Niall Devlin also swapped scores before Packie Downey and Brannigan gave Bryansford a 1-17 to 0-5 lead midway through the half.
Philip Madine grabbed a point for Saval, but points from Brannigan, Downey and Niall O’Higgins extended Bryansford’s lead even further. Niall Madine and Brannigan exchanged points before Oisin McEvoy lofted over the last score of the game for Saval.
