The Workshop in Ballynahinch to showcase exhibition by Ali Parks

24 July 2024

THE Workshop in Ballynahinch will be presenting a new exhibition of paintings by acclaimed local artist Ali Parks.

Launching on August 3, and running throughout the month, this exhibition promises to captivate audiences with its vibrant depictions of local birds amongst a tapestry of decorative florals.

Ali Parks, also know as Ali P, a visual communication graduate, has an impressive background in illustration, graphic design and public art.

Her latest collection, Avian Botanicals, showcases her ability to translate the beauty of the natural world into stunning visual art.

“Our connection to the natural world is a powerful source of inspiration to me,” Ali explained. “I try to infuse my sense of wonder and appreciation of nature into my work.

“I relish all the little details in plants and birds and enjoy close-up observation of them. I’d like to engage the viewer and for them to feel immersed in the paintings as I immerse myself in nature.”

“I do this by creating intricate patterns and using a vibrant rich colour palette.

“I love the sense of harmony and balance that pattern can bring and I feel certain colours and evoke joy and peace, and this is another way of connecting the viewer.”

Avian Botanicals is not just a display of paintings, it is an engaging experience that invites viewers to appreciate the magic of nature through Ali’s eyes.

The workshop will commence on August 3, from noon until 4pm, providing an exclusive opportunity to meet Ali P, explore her work and to see her painting live.
