Super cars bring out crowds to race track

BISHOPSCOURT race track was the setting for a major fundraising event recently in aid of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.

It proved to be an outstanding success with a staggering £63,000 being raised for the emergency service which relies on charitable donations for its funding

The Supercar Sunday event saw the owners of a selection of prestige cars get an opportunity to drive around the circuit and one very interested spectator at the two-day event was Newry, Mourne and Down Council chairman Michael Savage.

He said it was “fantastic” to see the local race track being put through its paces by some of the fastest cars on the planet in aid of NI Air Ambulance NI.

Cllr Savage added: “My thanks to Roy Biggerstaff and all the organisers for the invitation. It was great to see so many car enthusiasts visit our district and enjoy what was a truly memorable day.”
