TRAINEE chef Ryan Finnegan is cooking up a reputation in the foodie world after being named Rotary Club Young Chef of the Year.
The Dundrum teenager is delighted to have won the all-Ireland title for a three course meal served to judges including Ardglass scallops, free range Irish chicken and chocolate fondant.
Ryan, who is 17, is a first year student at Southern Regional College in Newry where he is studying for a level two diploma in professional cookery.
The competition started in September last year when he won his college heat before progressing to, and excelling in, the regional finals in January in Athlone.
Ryan will head to England in May to represent Ireland in the UK finals.
