New President of Methodist Women

New President of Methodist Women

18 September 2024

A BALLYNAHINCH woman is the new All-Ireland President of Methodist Women in Ireland.

Mrs Alexa Brown was installed during a service in Ballynahinch Methodist Church on Saturday.

The Rev David Turtle, superintendent minister of Lagan Valley and South Down, gave a warm welcome to a full congregation, which involved visitors from all over Ireland.

Mrs Brown chose as her theme ‘Staying Connected’ to God and each other.  She spoke about some pictures that had inspired her to allow her name to be put forward to this high position.

The Rev Dr John Alderdice gave an interesting talk on leadership, and how important it is to “lead, listen and love”.

The praise and worship was the highlight of the afternoon.

Thanks were extended to those who attended and took part in the service, as well as everyone who helped in any way.

Thanks were also expressed to the outgoing president, Olive Rowe, and a warm welcome was extended to Mrs Brown in her new role.

Refreshments were served after the service.
