A NEWCASTLE school pupil has earned a place on a highly competitive programme at Queen’s University Belfast.

Mischa Bonnor-Campbell, a sixth form student at Shimna Integrated College, has been offered a place on the university’s Senior Academy programme.

The programme offers a unique opportunity for high-achieving students to engage with university-level study, develop essential academic skills and receive expert guidance on their future educational pathways.

The Senior Academy is a highly respected initiative designed to support and inspire academically able students as they prepare for university.

Through a series of workshops, mentoring sessions and academic engagement opportunities, Mischa will gain invaluable experience, insight into university life and guidance on achieving her higher education goals.

Ms Joanne Poland, assistant vice-principal at Shimna College, said it will be a “fantastic opportunity for Mischa to develop her academic skills and gain first-hand experience of university learning”.

She added: “We are delighted to see her hard work and commitment recognised in such a prestigious programme.”
