KILLYLEAGH YC’s end of season presentation evening turned into a promotion party.
The club secured a return to the Amateur League’s Premier Section after a four-year break, and the achievement was celebrated at the end of season dinner dance in the Oaks, Darragh Cross.
One of the highlights of the night was a special presentation to the two YC players, Adam Neale and Jack Sharvin, who were selected to start and represent the Amateur League in the annual representative game in Scotland.
Paul Sharvin, the YC manager who steered the club from Division 1A, thanked those who had helped gain promotion, pointing out the side was unbeaten away from home and lost only two games all season.
He said the task in the season ahead was to ensure the club survived in the Premier Section. Other speakers on the night included club chairman Dee Heron, Nicky Hagan, Chris Hagan and Barney Ross.
The awards were presented by the special guest, Killyleagh’s Gary Thompson, from Crusaders, who has also picked up silverware with Linfield, Lisburn Distillery and Ballymena.
