Hollymount Pipe Band’s Ashley is crowned UK solo drumming champ

HOLLYMOUNT Pipe Band’s Ashley Steele has been crowned the UK’s juvenile solo drumming champion.

Ashley beat off some stiff competition to wow the judges with her performance and delight a large crowd of spectators at Cookstown High School last Saturday.

The local band’s Jack Semple finished second with Lucy Watson sixth in what was an extremely tough Grade 1 juvenile Section 1.

The band would like to thank James and Mollie for piping for the drummers and extend a “well done” to dedicated drumming tutor
