DRUMANESS All Stars retained the Martin Cup after a thrilling final against St Mary’s, which went to the last frame.

Jack Mc Asocker got St Marys off to the perfect start with a win over Paul Lyndsey.

Despite the 56-point handicap Paul was conceding, Jack played a solid frame and with multiple teen scores won the frame 95-64 to give St Mary’s an early edge.

Eamon Ferris closed the gap slightly with a six-point win over Ryan Murphy. Eamon scored breaks of 30 and 25 to 81-75.

Going into the third frame, Kevin McQuade was looking to hold onto his handicap of 49 points. However, Mark Boyd clawed his way back and going into the colours he took his chances and won 94-86.

Jack Mc Astocker was up again for frame four against Mark Boyd and this time Boyd managed to find some form.

He started with an early 38 break to wipe out the handicap and capitalised on a few mistakes by McAstocker later on to take the colours and win the frame 89-77.

With two frames remaining St Mary’s led by six points, but this was to be the last time they would be in front.

Paul Lyndsey showed his class in the next frame, knocking in a 59 break to sink the chances of Ryan Murphy and Eamon Ferris produced the highest break of the night in the final frame – a superb 67 – which was enough to close out the match and bring the Martin Cup home to Drumaness once again.
