Downpatrick anglers hook £2,400 in Marie Curie day

MEMBERS of Downpatrick District Anglers have raised £2,425 for Marie Curie.

The money was raised during a recent charity day event, with 24 anglers taking part and other club members helping out.

There was a barbecue, refreshments and treats for everyone who attended with the total raised including entry fees, donations and the proceeds of a ballot.

The top five prizes were won by William Letson, Neal Stewart, Tommy Sexton, Stephen Collins and Terry Bradley respectively.

Members of the Downpatrick District Anglers Committee would thank all anglers who fished and bought ballot tickets and also members who donated to the very worthy cause.
