Cormac all set for Saudi tournament

20 January 2021

ARDGLASS golfer Cormac Sharvin will tee it up in next month’s Saudi International tournament after landing an invitation.

He will join world number one and last year’s Masters champion Dustin Johnson, US Open winner Bryson DeChambeau and leading Europeans such as Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia and Shane Lowrey.

Also in attendance will be the defending champion, Portrush’s Graeme McDowell.

Cormac graduated to the European Tour after finishing the 2019 Challenge Tour season in 11th position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, following eight top 10 and six top five finishes.

In addition, he was the lowest-scoring Irishman in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Lahinch Golf Club where he ended the

tournament in a share of 15th place.

Cormac was also an integral part of the victorious Walker Cup side in 2015 when Great Britain & Ireland defeated the USA by 16.5 to  9.5.

As the Ardglass man prepares for Saudi Arabia, the line-up will be one of the strongest events on the 2021 European Tour schedule.

Golf Saudi is looking to build on the momentum built up during the hosting of two extremely successful weeks of Ladies European Tour events last month.
