Charity concert in Seaforde

Charity concert in Seaforde

22 May 2019

A CONCERT takes place in Seaforde tomorrow night in aid of a Parkinson’s charity.

The locally-based Harmonic Progression women’s community choir will be presenting their spring concert, entitled Makers of Music and Dreamers of Dreams, in Seaforde YFC Hall at 7.30pm.

Rehearsals are well underway for the concert which is inspired by the first line of Arthur O’Shaughnessy’s Ode.

One of the choir members, Heather Knipe, and her husband, John, are climbing Mount Fuji in Japan for the Cure Parkinson’s Trust and all donations at the door and from a raffle will be presented to this charity during the concert.

Harmonic Progression. Helene, an alto, says: “For me choir means friendship, good craic and time-out to help others. Not many things can do that.”

Grace says she finds choir, “inspiring, encouraging and lots of fun. So glad I joined”.

Soprano Caroline has no doubt the “choir is more fun than going to the gym, healthier than going to the pub and cheaper than therapy”.
