DRUMANESS Allstars put on a dominant display in the BSW Autos Cup final, beating their club compatriots with an impressive 5-0 scoreline.
Paul Lindsay struck first for the Allstars, securing a comfortable frame-win over Fifths’ Jay Edmonds.
Edmonds had an early chance to build a lead, but he missed a red to the centre and allowed Lindsay to dominate the frame, winning by a margin of 60-20.
Brendan Coiley made it two-in-a-row for the Allstars, seizing the first chance and recording a superb 51-break to take the frame without Colin Patterson getting a score on the board.
The Fifths looked like they were going to get their first point of the match in the next, as Mark Magoran was controlling his frame against Eamon Ferris.
However, with a deficit of 24 and just 25 left on the table, a fluke green, alongside a brown and black, was enough for Ferris to steal the frame and stretch the margin to 3-0.
Coiley once again showed his class in his second frame, producing another half-century break.
This time, he hit a break of 54, leaving Magoran scoreless as the Allstars had raced into a 4-0 lead.
At that point, there was no room for error for the Fifths, who clung onto the match and looked to turn things around.
However, it was not to be, as Lindsay potted some great balls and finished the match with a 32-break, with Patterson offering his hand in defeat.
Thanks to Drumaness snooker club for hosting the final, and all those who came out to watch a fast-paced, six-red match — a format which has become a firm favourite on the BMF Snooker calendar.
League snooker continues next, while the knockout action will return, in the form of the Vivo Cup, at the end of November.
