HUNDREDS of people enjoyed strolling down memory lane at a successful exhibition in Crossgar last week.
‘Faces of Crossgar’ featured 100 past and present residents of the village, with a photograph and a short biography for each.
It was part of Crossgar Community Association’s Festival Week, with the event being held in collaboration with Crossgar Historical Society.
Up to 500 people visited the Faces of Crossgar exhibition in Crossgar War Memorial Hall over two evenings last week.
Crossgar Historical Society president Callum Bowsie said: “The event brought back a lot of memories of relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues from yesteryear.
“It is great to have these faces and their backgrounds recorded for years to come.
“This was only a snapshot of the local faces.
“Plenty of additional names have been suggested now too, should another display be put together.
“Getting photos for a lot of people has been a challenge, so any additional photos would be helpful.”
For those who missed the exhibition, Crossgar Historical Society will be putting on a slideshow of the faces at their next meeting, on Monday the 28th of September at 7.30pm.
