AIDAN Burns says that consistency will be crucial for Kilclief in their bid to have a good end to their season. With two games remaining in the league, the Kilclief manager wants to see solid performances to prepare them for the upcoming championship, which is their next goal.
Their manager, Aidan said: “We are looking for a lot more consistency.
“All the talent is there, but the consistency is not there each week.” He says that he does not worry about their results, instead it is good performances that he is after.
“If we perform, then we put ourselves in a position to win. “So we want to work on our performances.”
One of the challenges to being consistent is their changing squad. Aidan has had to chop and change for one reason or another. For example, Patrick Sharvin has been sidelined with an ACL.
Also, Aidan has been introducing newer players to the squad. But despite the changing squad the team have enjoyed some good performances. They managed to earn a top six place before the split, but promotion was just beyond them.
That is being played out between the four top teams, Drumaness, Ballymartin, Ardglass and Tullylish.
“Division Four is really strong this year,” Aidan said. “Every week has been a really good test.
“We wanted to do as well as we possibly could. We wanted to push to the top six. “Promotion was not talked about. “We just wanted to start the league well.”
