The Temple Motorcycle Club’s annual Brian Bell Memorial Motocross made a successful return to the Miller Oils Laurelbank Motocross Park on the evening of 24 June, after being postponed for a fortnight due to poor weather.
With sunshine replacing weeks of rain, riders, officials and spectators gathered for one of the most prestigious events on the local motocross calendar.
A strong entry produced competitive racing throughout the evening as riders battled for the Brian Bell Memorial title, which was first contested in 1969.
In the Group A class, Glenn McCormick won the opening race ahead of Nathan Green and Niall Cregan. Jordan McCaw claimed victory in race two, but McCormick returned to win the final race and secure the overall victory.
The Clubman Group 1 class saw Colin Davidson and Andrew Agnew share race wins before Davidson secured victory in the deciding race to take the overall honours. Andrew Kelly finished second overall, followed by Alex Dugan, with Brian Bell finishing fourth.
In Clubman Group 2, James Milligan dominated proceedings, taking victories in all three races. Ethan Brown finished second overall, with Jake Boyd claiming third.
The highlight of the evening was the 2026 Brian Bell Memorial race, featuring the fastest 30 riders over eight laps.
Defending champion Glenn McCormick successfully retained the title, finishing ahead of Seaforde’s Nathan Green and Saintfield’s Niall Cregan. Jordan McCaw finished fourth, with Scott Hamilton fifth.
Temple Motorcycle Club thanked the Bell family for their continued support, Gerard O’Neill for preparing the track, St John Ambulance, David Barr and his timekeepers, commentator Roy Neil, MRA Steward Sam McMinn, the marshals, officials, volunteers and everyone who helped make another successful Brian Bell Memorial Motocross possible.
