A DARRAGH Cross man who died in a road traffic collision on Easter Sunday will be laid to rest today (Wednesday April 8).
Fionn Brannigan passed away after the weekend accident in Dervock, County Antrim, and his funeral will take place this afternoon (12pm) in Mary Mother of the Church in Saintfield, with burial afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Kilcairn, Carrickmannon.
A death notice said that the 20-year-old, who had recently launched his own residential electrical specialist business, was the dearly beloved son of Leanne and Philip and cherished brother of Lucy, and was a much-loved grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.
‘On his soul, sweet Jesus have mercy,’ it read.
‘Deeply regretted by his sorrowing mother, father, sister, grandmother, grandfather, cousins and entire family circle.
‘Family flowers only please – donation in lieu, if desired, to Epilepsy Action Northern Ireland.’
In an online post, Darragh Cross GAC sent its condolences to the Brannigan family on ‘the tragic death of Fionn’.
‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time,’ it stated.
‘Mary Queen of the Gael, pray for him.
‘Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.’
Rowallane Alliance councillor David Lee-Surginor said that his “thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and friends” of Mr Brannigan.
“This is a heartbreaking loss that will be felt across Crossgar and beyond.”
