As expected, the top two teams in Division One, McMullan’s A and International A, played out a 5-5 draw in the Division One play-off on Thursday past. To decide a winner, three players from each team went head-to-head, with International A coming out as 2-0 winners.
Gerard McCaffrey and Robbie Todd were the two winners for International on an evening of high drama at Ross’s Bar. McMullan’s led 5-2 before International staged a sensational comeback to bring the game level and take proceedings to sudden death. There was nothing between these two sides all season.
The league’s pairs competition will take place tomorrow (Thursday 2nd April), with games taking place in International, Oaks, Corner Inn, Ross’s, Carman’s, Chestnut, Rowallane, and McMullan’s. It’s a best-of-three frames competition. One pair per venue, and all games are played to a finish.
