CASTLEWELLAN GAC held their annual underage presentations last Friday night when the club was packed to the rafters with players and their parents.

The special guests in attendance were the club’s own Kevin Duffin and Karen Gribben, the dual ladies’ football and camogie star.

Club chairman Rory McCabe spoke of the importance of continually putting in the good work and always listening to their coaches. He emphasised their important role in our club and to urge them to fulfil the potential they had.

The award winners were:

U-12 footballer of the year, James McAleenan; U-12 most improved footballer, Jordan Valentine.

U-14 footballer of the year, Sean O’Boyle; U-14 most improved footballer, Ryan Lundy.

U-16 footballer of the year, Michael Gilmore; U-16 most improved footballer, Ciaran Cleland.

U-12 hurler of the year, joint winners James McAleenan, Sean Keown and Matthew Muldoon.

U-14 hurler of the year, Sean P. Carville; U-14 most improved hurler of the year, Joseph Cunningham.

U-16 hurler of the year, Sean Hardy; U-16 hurling sportsman of the year, Paul King.

U-16 ladies’ player of the year, Paidi Hawkins; U-16 ladies’ trainer of the year, Saoirse Steele.

U-14 ladies’ player of the year, Anna Rogan; U-14 ladies’ trainer of the year, joint winners Aisling Burn & Caitlin Small.

U-12 ladies’ player of the year, Bria McKee; U-12 ladies’ trainer of the year, Emma Rice.

U-16 camogie player of the year, Aoife Keown; U-16 camogie trainer of year, Paidi Hawkins.

U-14 camogie player of the year, Anna Rogan; U-14 camogie trainer of the year, Catriona Caldwell.

U-12 camogie player of the year, Rebecca Toner; U-12 camogie trainer of the year, Aislinn Hawkins.
