Rachel’s success at Balmoral Show

23 May 2012

SAINTFIELD teenager Rachel Moore had an enjoyable and successful couple of days at Balmoral Show.

On Thursday morning 16 year-old Rachel took first place in the 4 -5 years old Registered Ridden Connemara Pony class riding the four year-old grey filly, Addrigoole Annabel, owned by Laura and James McWeeney from Ballinamore, County Leitrim and competing in her first season. They were absolutely delighted when the incredible duo then went on to take the Overall Reserve Connemara Championship.

The main arena on Friday morning was a colourful spectacle with a large class of show hunters with Rachel riding her own pony, Timahoe Robin Hood, a six year-old bay gelding which stood in second place following the judging.

A few hours later on her own pony, the impressive Fortview Toy Boy, a six year-old grey/roan gelding, she won the 153cm Working Hunter class before going on to win the Overall Working Hunter championship.

All three ponies were produced by Rachel’s mum, Shirley.
