Mrs Marie Cusack

MRS Marie Cusack, of 26 Bright Road, Downpatrick, who has died aged 65, was a retired care home worker who will be much mourned.

She passed away on May 2, 50 years to the day after she first met her beloved husband, Bobby.

They were married on July 25, 1973, and spent 47 happy years together.

Mrs Cusack worked as a carer at Hugh Millar House in Downpatrick and Killyleagh Lodge. She was also a devoted housewife and mother to her four children, Barry, Ciaran, Kelley and Darren.

She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law and family circle.

Mrs Cusack had many interests. She enjoyed completing jigsaws and crosswords, was a talented baker and also had considerable painting and decorating skills. However, her chief interest was her garden, which she adored.

Mrs Cusack was a quiet person, but she had many friends.

The funeral service on May 5 was from her late residence to St Patrick’s Cemetery, Legamaddy. Fr Peter O’Kane officiated.
