A KILLINCHY man has been recognised for his long service to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
David Morrow was recently presented with a Long Service Certificate by The Earl of Wessex at a special event in Hillsborough Castle.
For the last 30 years, David has been a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Centre Co-ordinator and Expedition Assessor in Killinchy and has worked with hundreds of young people on all aspects of the programme, helping them to achieve their Awards.
Trevor Quinn, DofE Manager for the South Eastern Education and Library Board said: “We are indebted to David for his extremely dedicated service and commitment over many years.
“I’m absolutely delighted that he has been recognised in this way. David has ensured that hundreds of young people have been able to do their Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards by his volunteering.”
DofE NI Director Kate Thompson said: “We were delighted that The Earl of Wessex agreed to present David with his Long Service Certificate to recognise his service and commitment.
“Without volunteers, such as David, our programme could quite simply not operate and we, and the young people he has supported, owe him a huge debt.”
