THE annual St John’s GAC Golf Classic sponsored by Flynn Energy was held at Spa Golf Club last Friday with over 80 golfers taking part.

There was a special prize of a Ping G430 driver valued at £500 sponsored by the club’s Belfast friends in memory of Terry Brady and this was won by Barry Garland.

Rory McMullan was the ‘Pro’ for the day for Beat The Pro and also generously donated a £100 prize which was won by Danny O’Rourke for the second year in-a-row.

Longest drive was won by Paul Curran and nearest the pin by Sean James Brannigan.

The £150 Stix & Stones restaurant voucher was won by Declan Duffy and the Spa GC fourball voucher was won by Hugh McCullough.

The team events also had a number of winners.

The GUI Section winners were Liam Cunningham, Jimmy Kelly, Owen Flynn (sponsor), Leo Rice and Michael Murphy.

The GUI Section runners-up were Martin Keith, John McMullan, Owen Flynn (sponsor), Kevin Walsh and Adrian Mussen.

Thanks to all who played, sponsored and helped on the day to make this such a successful event for the club and to Spa Golf Club members and staff for hosting the club once again this year.
