Successful coffee morning in aid of Saintfield Xmas ride

NEWRY, Mourne and Down Council’s Downshire Civic Centre in Downpatrick hosted a coffee morning in aid of the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride Ugandan Bore Hole Fund last week.

Local councillors Robert Burgess and Dermot Curran welcomed guests from across the equestrian world, local government officials and council staff.

Joan Cunningham — who organises the annual charity ride — thanked the councillors who attended the event and council staff member Barbara Ennis who organised the catering.

During the coffee morning, Ms Cunningham discussed with Cllr Burgess plans for this year’s Saintfield Horse Show.

Previously held at Tyrella House, the annual show is moving to a new venue in Castlewellan, kindly hosted by Eugene Milligan.

The charity ride will be held on Saturday, August 1, and will also be in aid of the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride Ugandan Project Fund.
