TWO local students have received top awards from the Ulster University Business School.

Ballynahinch’s Neva Boyle, a former student at the South Eastern Regional College’s Downpatrick campus — who is completing a BSc (Hons) degree in International Hospitality Management —  won the Northern Area CIMA Cup for achieving the highest marks in the accounting module.

Former Down High student Aoife Campbell, who recently graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Leisure and Event Management, was presented with the Origin Digital Award and the Bank of Ireland Digital Innovation Award.

The duo’s academic prowess was recognised at the annual Department of Hospitality and Tourism Awards.

Professor Una McMahon-Beattie said the Department of Hospitality and Tourism, in conjunction with its industry partners, was delighted to celebrate and recognise the excellence of its students.

“We are very proud of their achievements and are confident that with the current growth in the local and international agri-food, hospitality and tourism sectors, our graduates are well equipped to take on the challenges of managing and leading in these competitive market environments,” she added.
