Stepping Stones wins top excellence award

THE organisation behind the successful Garden Cafe at the St Patrick’s Centre in Downpatrick has been recognised for organisational excellence.

Stepping Stones NI was established in 1996 to provide adults with learning difficulties and disabilities with the opportunity to access accredited training towards gaining employment.

It achieved an excellence award through the EFQM scheme, which is a European-wide recognition scheme for businesses that demonstrate high levels of performance.

The award was picked up by Ellen Hillen, fundraising manager from Stepping Stones NI, at a ceremony at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel last week.

She said the organisation was proud to have gained such a high level of recognition for excellence in our organisation.

“We take organisational performance very seriously and have implemented strategies that strive towards the delivery of the highest levels of product and service delivery for all our stakeholders,” she added.
