PORTAFERRY’S Roy Livingstone has won the Centra/Action Cancer Endeavour Award at the Northern Ireland Health and Fitness Awards.

The prestigious event sponsored by Centra —  held at Belfast’s Crowne Plaza and attended by 500 guests — celebrated the outstanding achievements of the local health and fitness industry.

The awards were presented by TV personality and fitness advocate Vogue Williams and Q Radio’s Ibe Sesay.

Roy has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help raise much-needed funds for Centra’s charity partner, Action Cancer, cycling from London to Paris and, most recently, a 400-mile cycle in San Francisco.

Congratulating the Portaferry man on his win, Jennifer Morton, Centra brand manager, said that over the years, Roy “really has gone the extra mile when it comes to fundraising for Action Cancer”.

She continued: “From his cycles in Paris and San Francisco alongside local events and initiatives, Roy and the wider team at Centra in Portaferry have made a real impact with the funds they have raised.

“From everyone at Centra, we’d like to say a big thank you to Roy.”

Funds raised by Centra’s customers go towards funding the health action programme which educates children of all ages about leading healthier lifestyles as well as Action Cancer’s so-called big bus which travels across the Province driving home early cancer detection.
