A POLICE chase which started in Lisburn ended in Saintfield when the driver of a BMW car lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Two occupants in the car were arrested by police after the vehicle crashed shortly after passing Academy Primary School on the Listooder Road last Wednesday afternoon.
The PSNI helicopter was involved in following the vehicle from Lisburn to Saintfield, assisted by members of the local neighbourhood policing team, with the Ambulance Service alerted after the vehicle had crashed.
Police have confirmed that the pursuit began at the Sprucefield area in Lisburn when the BMW sped away from officers before being stopped in Saintfield.
Officers say the driver showed no regard or consideration for public safety as the pursuit passed
the busy primary school at home time.
As a result of the incident, the driver of the BMW was charged with a number of driving offences.
