Newcastle RNLI seeking fundraising volunteers

22 March 2017

WOULD you like to become part of an amazing asset?

Newcastle RNLI, a thriving busy community asset in the town, is looking for fundraising volunteers to set up an exciting new branch at its station.

The volunteer crew at Newcastle will host an open evening on Wednesday, March 29, from 7pm, for anyone interested in volunteering as a fundraiser.

So what do you need to be a fundraising volunteer at Newcastle RNLI Station?

A bit of free time, a love of our lifeboats, great ideas and plenty of enthusiasm.

Whether you are studying and want to have new skills to add to your CV or if you have recently found yourself with some extra time on your hands, we will have a volunteering role to suit your interests.

Lisa Ramsden, RNLI Newcastle Lifeboat Operations Manager, will be welcoming potential volunteers for the new fundraising branch to the station on the open evening.

Lisa said the team at Newcastle RNLI are really excited for a new fundraising branch.

“The local community has always supported us with fundraising events, collections and with inspiring fundraising ideas.

“We have our MAYDAY campaign coming up throughout the month of May and we would love some support and ideas for Yellow Welly-themed events,’ she explained.

Lisa continued: “If you would like to be part of the Newcastle RNLI team please join us on Wednesday, March 29, from 7pm at Newcastle Lifeboat Station.

“It will be very rewarding.”

Lisa added: “Volunteering is at the heart of the RNLI and without people like you we would not be able to carry out our lifesaving service.

“We look forward to welcoming you to our station next Wednesday, during which you can learn a bit more about the work we do and why fundraising is so very important.”
