New president appointed at Downpatrick Lions Club

DOWNPATRICK Lions Club has appointed Raymond Crea as its new president.

Mr Crea succeeds Mr John Dennis, who presented him with his chain of office during a socially-distanced handover.

Reflecting on his year in office, John said that while it was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, it was nevertheless rewarding, thanking his fellow club members and wider public for their enthusiasm and support.

Mr Crea said he was delighted to take over an important role at the helm of the organisation.

He said he looked forward to finding new ways to raise funds in what he described as “challenging times” for numerous charities that Downpatrick Lions support.
