New extension is planned for school

15 February 2017

PLANS have been unveiled for an extension to Sacred Heart Primary School in Dundrum.

The artists impressions of the newly refurbished front entrance, including a waiting room, lobby, a disabled toilet and automated doors, have been put on display in the school by principal, Stephen Austin.

Enhancements will also include ramped access, the refurbishment of all stepped areas to the front of the school and a large planted area.

The reception area will also be enlarged significantly and there will also be new principal’s and secretary’s office and the introduction of glass screens to improve visibility of visitors to the school.

Mr Austin said the redevelopment, which will take between 12 and 15 weeks to complete, will make the building more aesthetically pleasing, while providing enhanced access to everyone and greater child protection for pupils.
