Montalto Estate receives five-star rating

11 September 2019

THE stunning Montalto Estate outside Ballynahinch has been given a prestigious five-star visitor attraction grading from Tourism NI.

The beautiful attraction opened its doors to the public for the first time in September last year and last month welcomed its 100,000th visitor.

Offering tourists and locals a wonderful visitor experience including a café, trails, gardens and an exciting natural play area for children as well as a newly developed history trail where visitors can learn about the estate’s rich history including the location of the Battle of Ballynahinch, Montalto is a must-visit attraction.

Tourism NI’s quality and standards manager, Caroline Adams, described the picturesque estate as a “significant addition” to the Northern Ireland tourism product.

“September 2018 marked the first time that the estate was opened to the public and it has gone from strength to strength ever since,” she said.

“Our quality and standards team informed the estate on what is required from a five-star visitor attraction and they fully embraced the challenge. I commend the team at Montalto for its hard work and for offering visitors an exceptional experience. Congratulations on a very well deserved five star grading.”

The estate’s operations director, Keith Reilly, said luxury, quality, attention to detail and customer care are paramount at Montalto.

“We are thrilled to be awarded this five-star grading from Tourism NI as recognition for our sustained commitment,” he continued.

“Our team always work exceptionally hard to create a stand-out visitor experience that showcases an element of Northern Ireland which is memorable to all who come here. We are humbled, not only by the amount of people that have signed up to be a member of the estate, but also the number of new visitors that come each week.”

Keith added: “To maintain our appeal, we will be continuing to develop our offering with further plans for trails, gardens, events and play to name a few. It makes me immensely proud to be part of a team that made this all happen, and I can’t thank our staff enough.”
