Miss Saintfield crowned in NI beauty contest

SAINTFIELD’S White Horse Inn hosted Northern Ireland’s most prestigious beauty competition recently.

The Main Street venue hosted a heat of the  the Miss Northern Ireland competition with contestants competing for a place in the final in front of an astute judging panel.

Judges included event organiser, Victoria Withers, owner of Michelle International Denise McCluskey, Alison Clarke, Natasha Sharma of YellowTom and White Horse owner, Gavin Bates.

Dromore teenager Avah Huppe (17) was crowned ‘Miss White Horse’ with Bethany Andrews (17) from Bangor crowned ‘Miss Saintfield’.

The girls will now go forward to the grand final in Belfast’s Europa Hotel on Monday, May 27 and stand a chance of winning the coveted Miss Northern Ireland title.

Competition organiser Victoria Withers said everyone was thrilled to be back at The White Horse.

“It was the perfect venue to continue the search this year and a brilliant day was had by all,” she said.

“Saintfield had a strong calibre of girls who entered. Once again, it was a fabulous evening and huge congratulations to the winning girls and a big thank you to all who came along.”

Last year’s winner, Kaitlyn Clarke, congratulated Avah and Bethany.

“My year as Miss Northern Ireland has been a dream come true,” she said.

“It is something that I will treasure forever and I cannot thank event organiser Victoria Withers and the ACA models enough for giving me this life changing opportunity.”

Kaitlyn added: “I’d also like to thank all my amazing sponsors for everything. They have generously provided for me this year as Miss Northern Ireland and it certainly has been a busy year.”

“I am so excited to get to know all of the girls as they embark on their Miss Northern Ireland journey, and I would like to wish them the very best of luck.”
