Four taken to hospital after seven-car pile-up

SEVEN vehicles collided in a crash outside Ballynahinch on Friday morning.

Four people were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. Two other people were treated at the scene on the Magheraknock Road by the Ambulance Service.

The multi-vehicle collision was reported just before 8.30am. Among the emergency service personnel attending was a fire crew from Lisburn. Their assistance, however, was not required.

The road was closed for a time causing long tail backs between Ballynahinch and Lisburn. Diversions were put in place and the road reopened just after 11.45am.
