A DARRAGH Cross man has been crowned Northern Ireland’s Plumber of the Year.

Fintan Murray won the accolade at the annual NI Plumbing and Heating Awards held at Titanic Belfast.

Thirty-year-old Fintan is no stranger to success, having also been a two-time runner-up in Apprentice Plumber of the Year category at the same event.

Fintan is a former student of St Colmcille’s High School in Crossgar and South Eastern Regional College where he completed an apprenticeship in plumbing and heating.

He now manages the family business, Murray Plumbing and Heating, which was formerly run by his father, Francis.

He has numerous industry qualifications, including certifications in gas installation, biomass and heat pumps.

In his spare time, Fintan is a keen cyclist and runner and has raised money for charity.

The awards were organised by Ireland’s Plumbing and Heating magazine.

A spokesperson praised Fintan’s “extensive expertise, dedication and strong reputation” in the plumbing and heating industry across Northern Ireland.

“With over a decade in the field, Fintan is celebrated not only for his technical abilities but also for his commitment to customer satisfaction,” the spokesperson continued.

“His loyal client base consistently praises his professionalism, attention to detail and friendly, positive approach, which have set him apart as a trusted and valued tradesman.”
