THE UUP’s South Down Assembly election candidate Jill Macauley took part in the annual Brew for Drew province-wide initiative last weekend to raise money for the Drew Nelson Legacy Project.
It was launched several years ago to honour the late senior Orangeman and former Grand Orange Lodge secretary.
The event did not take place for the past two years as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but returned last Saturday morning with local Orange districts taking part in the event.
Mrs Macauley said she was delighted to attend a number of local coffee mornings held across South Down last weekend, stopping off in Rathfriland and at Dundrum Orange Hall at an event hosted by the Castlewellan District No 12. It was then off to Spa Orange Hall for an event hosted by the Ballynahinch district.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all of the organising committees in all our local venues and hope that they raised plenty of money for a good cause,” she added.
