CONCERN has been expressed at the attempted theft of an information sign from outside Dundrum GAC’s ground.
The sign was removed on Wednesday evening of last week, but was recovered the following day.
The incident has been condemned by Slieve Croob councillor Róisín Howell, who said the sign was ripped from its mounting and described what happened as “disgraceful.”
Cllr Howell declared: “I condemn those who carried this out. Dundrum GAC, along with all GAA clubs, is run by volunteers who raise money to buy items such as this sign. The sign had a number of things on it but what caught my eye was the word ‘respect’ written on it.”
She added: “It is time that the individuals who carried out this attack showed this same respect that this GAA club is asking for.”
