Ardglass pairs event proves successful

ARDGLASS Ladies’ open four-ball better-ball competition proved to be a great success in glorious weather conditions.

The event was held at Ardglass Golf Club with 51 pairs (102 ladies) participating from as far away as Dun Laoghaire to Portstewart.

At the evening presentation, Ardglass lady captain, Teresa McAteer, thanked The Cuan, Strangford, for their very generous sponsorship which resulted in the following array of prize winners: 1st Roisin Denvir and Cathy Stranney, 48pts; 2nd Doreen Chambers and Adrienne Murphy, 46pts; 3rd Monica Magee and Joan Dickson (Crossgar), 44pts.

Front nine: Maria Smyth and Deirdre Hanna, 24pts. Back nine: Deirdre Fitzsimons and Jennifer Cultra, 22pts.

The next open competitions are the Mixed Greensomes on July 12 and a three person scramble for ladies on July 14.
