AN inspirational Strangford artist is exhibiting her work at the charming Malone House, Belfast this month.
The exhibition, which includes 26 pieces of work by 90 year-old Maggie Thomas, was opened by acclaimed artist Neil Shawcross last week.
Mr Shawcross, had the privilege of teaching Maggie when she began to study art at the University of Jordanstown when she was 61 years old.
Maggie, an advocate of never believing its too late to learn, is delighted to be holding this exhibition.
Maggie who says she is fast running out of walls in the Higgin Gallery at Malone House to display her artwork, said: “Among this collection are portraits, landscapes, mixed media and abstracts done in oils and acrylics.
“I have included some printmaking and some pieces which are retrospect.”
The opening on August 6, was enjoyed by a large number of guests who enjoyed an informative and complimentary talk by Mr Shawcross, as well as the variety of striking paintings and prints on display.
The collection will be on show every day from 9am to 5pm until August 30.
