A GLOWING tribute has been paid to

Downpatrick woman Michaela Curran who died in a tragic accident in the town last week.

The 35 year-old mother-of-three has been described by her family as someone who was blessed with a very kind nature and always willing to help others.

Michaela, who was married to her husband, Kyle, for just over five years and had three children, Emma, Daniel and James, lived for her family and was a tireless fundraiser for many charities and good causes.

She was well known in the Downpatrick area and her death has stunned the local

community.

Paying tribute to his niece, Mr John

Gordon described Michaela as a “vibrant,

energetic and fun-loving person who had a bubbly  personality and a kind heart.”

He continued: “Michaela had a great

presence and will be forever remembered for her infectious laugh. She was very passionate about her family and for her, it was the most important thing in her life.”

Describing his niece as as a very dedicated and hard-working woman, Mr Gordon said Michaela worked for Forever Living, the online company which sells health and beauty products, and within a short time of her taking up the job she had progressed to the role of supervisor.

“Michaela was held in high esteem by her employers and work colleagues, many of whom travelled long distances to pay their respects and extend their condolences to the family. Michaela had a very kind nature and was always willing to help,” he continued.

“Even with a busy family life and work commitments, she still had time to help with the care of her husband’s grandparents who sadly passed away recently.”

Mr Gordon said that over recent months, Michaela also played an active role in the care of her grandmother, Mary, with whom she had a great relationship.

He also said his niece took part in many charity and fundraising events with one of her most recent notable accomplishments scaling Slieve Donard in the Mournes.

“The large attendance at Michaela’s funeral service last Friday was testament to the high regard in which she was held across the community,” said Mr Gordon.

“She will be greatly and very sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.”

Mr Gordon said Michaela’s family would like to thank the members of the emergency services who attended the scene of last week’s accident at Bishops Brae on the outskirts of Downpatrick and all their family and friends for their support at this very difficult time.

During last week’s funeral service at St Patrick’s Church in Downpatrick,  Fr Liam Toland said  Michaela, who lost her mum Geraldine, six months ago, would be remembered as someone who was “always the life and soul of the party and everyone was certainly aware of her presence”.

He said she had a “big and very bubbly personality and a great sense of humour and fun, and always enjoyed the craic”.

Mourners were told that Michaela and Kyle enjoyed a very loving and very happy relationship with Mrs Curran’s family the most important part of her life.

“She enjoyed a lot of family time and particularly loved her family days out with Kyle and her boys. Through her work with Forever Living, she entertained many with her promotional videos on social media,” Fr Toland said.

He added: “Michaela had a very kind nature and will be sorely missed by all who knew her and loved her and she will certainly never be forgotten.”
